I was born in Litchfield, IL and graduated from Litchfield High School in 2011. After high school, I attended Illinois State University where I received a bachelor's degree in Animal Science. While my initial plan was to pursue a career in agriculture, I ended up moving to Dallas, Texas with my husband and my career path changed. I spent roughly two years dog walking in the city before deciding I wanted to do something more challenging. I attended Texas Allbreed Grooming School and became certified in September of 2017. Since then, I have spent nearly 4 years continuing to work for and learn from my mentor, Steve Arnold. Recently, my husband and I have purchased a home in Litchfield and I am extremely excited to be opening Shaggy Dog Pet Spa so that I can take care of my hometown community's pets.
After adopting my labradoodle, Nala, I realized that I wanted her to have the haircut that I preferred, and the best way to do that was to learn how to groom her myself. I thoroughly enjoy making my clients happy by giving them exactly what they envision for their pet, as well as providing their pet with a happy, relaxing experience in the salon. Grooming is a necessity for dogs, and I would love to be the person that shows them that it doesn't have to be a scary process. My goal in this business is to show kindness and patience with my pet clients and hopefully create trusting relationships with them. I am willing to work with my clients to provide the perfect haircut for both them, and their pet. My extensive knowledge in the grooming industry allows me to recognize a pet's limits and recognize how I can make my human clients happy, and my pet clients comfortable.
